Veronica King

Veronica King, a South African international speaker and advocate, founded Emuthini Consulting in 2002. With extensive experience in senior executive roles, she addresses social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in various sectors, notably in education and governance. Veronica's dedication to societal transformation stems from her belief that social injustices, including workplace resistance to change, must be challenged. Her global work spans countries like the UK, USA, India, and Nigeria, all driven by a commitment to global social justice and transformation. As a board member, she strives for restitution, balanced relationships, and a shared sense of humanity.

Deon Synman

Deon Snyman

Deon Snyman

At 49, Deon Snyman holds a PhD in Theology and an MA in Semitic Languages from the University of Pretoria, as well as an MPhil in Political Studies from the University of Cape Town. With an 11-year ministerial background in Zulu-speaking congregations and work at the Diakonia Council of Churches, he later became COO at the Restitution Foundation, focusing on historical issues. Now leading the Goedgedacht Trust, Deon supports rural communities. He's married to Sarah Crawford-Browne, a UCT Health Sciences lecturer.

Kyla Hazell

Kyla, is a proactive advocate that thrives on collaborative learning for impactful social justice initiatives. Currently, as Ndifuna Ukwazi's education officer, she addresses Cape Town's housing issues. Kyla also contributes to the Popular Education Programme board. With a BA (Hons) from Rhodes University and an MPhil from the University of Cape Town, she brings a solid academic background to her practical activism.

Charles Robertson

Charles Robertson

In 1992, Charles co-founded Visual International (Pty) Ltd. and serves as CEO. He steered its transformation into a property development firm, now listed on AltX of JSE. Charles led the creation and distribution of The Visual Bible, an audio-visual rendition of biblical books. He co-established Syfin, contributing to N1 City, Western Province Park, Boschenmeer Golf Estate, and Myburgh Park. Through Fintrust, he co-founded high-tech companies like Veratron Inc. and Vict Systems. Grounded in his Christian faith, Charles co-founded SACLI and is involved in various initiatives. He holds a PhD and MCom from Stellenbosch University. Charles resides in Cape Town with his wife, Rita, and cherishes family time, outdoors, jogging, and cycling.

In loving memory: Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Mpilo Tutu is a South African Anglican cleric and theologian, known for his work as an anti-apartheid and human rights activist. In 1984 he received the Nobel Prize for Peace for his role in the opposition to apartheid in South Africa. Sadly he passed away on 26 December 2021.

Doctor Mary Burton is a political activist and human rights advocate that served as the president of the Black Sash during apartheid South Africa. Her contribution to the liberation struggle and attempts at reconciliation left an impact on the country. She is an inspiration for all South African women to always aspire for equality.

Prof. Mark Solms

Professor Solms returned to South Africa in 2002 as professor in neuropsychology at the University of Cape Town and to take up wine making on his family farm Solms Delta. Professor Solms set about tackling the social realities of South African agriculture by establishing a platform through which ownership of land and equity in the business could be shared. This transpired into 45% ownership of Solms Delta farm by the workers and residents.

Judge Kate O' Regan

Justice Catherine "Kate" O'Regan is a former judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa. From 2013 to 2014 she was a commissioner of the Khayelitsha Commission and is now the inaugural director of the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at the University of Oxford.
